As any parent realizes, school supplies can be expensive, especially when you’re struggling to make ends meet. Thanks to many volunteers, Summit Health Cares hosts a backpack drive each summer, collecting the packs and supplies needed to start the school year off right. Hundreds of backpacks are collected, filled and distributed to several community organizations, including: the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic, House of Prayer/Orange, Interfaith Pantry of the Oranges, Mount Pleasant Church/Newark, SDA Church of the Oranges and Solid Rock Baptist Church/Irvington.
