Summit Health Cares will present Broadway Rocks Cancer, a concert to raise funds to help provide comfort to patients and their families fighting cancer, December 15 at 7 PM at the Tower Theatre in Bend, Oregon. “This is an incredibly important event for us,” stated Monica Cotton, director of SHC’s Cancer Resources and Navigation Programs in a statement. “We know from our patients the toll that cancer can take. While they’re fighting for their lives, we want to do everything in our power to support them.”

Get ready for the holidays among a sea of Broadway's hottest stars! Summit Health Cares is proud to present Broadway Rocks Cancer, a live benefit performance raising funds to help provide comfort to patients and their families fighting cancer. This year's event is on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 at 7 pm and will be hosted by Christopher J. Hanke (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Cry-Baby, Rent). Hanke will be joined on stage by dozens of his Broadway colleagues to treat the audience to a rollicking evening of toe-tapping holiday show tunes.
Theatre Stars Join Forces for Broadway Rocks Cancer Concert

A host of theatre actors will be part of Summit Health Cares' Broadway Rocks Cancer concert December 16 at the Tower Theatre in Bend, Oregon. The 7 PM performance, which will raise funds to help provide comfort to patients and their families fighting cancer, will be hosted by Christopher J. Hanke (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Cry-Baby). Hanke will be joined on stage by Alex Ellis (Catch Me if You Can, Titanique), Colin Hanlon (Falsettos, Rent), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Hair, On the Town), Natalie Joy Johnson (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde), Tamika Lawrence (Caroline, or Change; Come from Away), Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party), Joe Aaron Reid (Catch Me if You Can, Chicago), Conrad Ricamora (The King and I, Little Shop of Horrors), Adam Roberts (Pippin, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), and Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill, On the Town).

UHS Teacher and Students Raise Money for Summit Health Cares at Summit Challenge

A team of 10 from Union High School raised over $1,500 last weekend participating in the Summit Challenge for Summit Health Cares an organization that offers multiple resources, providing comfort and easing stress and anxiety - all in an effort to increase quality of life and chances of survival. Union High School social studies teacher Nicholas Ferroni said the high school team raised more than $500 over this year’s goal of $1,000.

About a year removed from breast cancer, Michelle Perry will compete in the Summit Challenge on June 5th at The Park in Berkeley Heights. It's a 2½-mile run dotted with five obstacles. Summit Challenge is a fundraiser for Summit Health Cares' Cancer Comfort Project, which provides non-medical resources to patients and families undergoing cancer treatment.

SHC & City of Plainfield to host Free Health & Wellness Fair

SHC and the City of Plainfield have joined forces to host a free Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 23 at City Hall (515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield) from 11 am to 3 pm. The free Health & Wellness Fair will offer COVID-19 vaccines, access to health screenings, diaper & menstrual hygiene products, colorectal cancer education and colorectal screenings, supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP), free sunscreen, and more!

SHC and Liquid Technology Team Up to Give NJ Students a Boost to Start the School Year

For the past five years, SHC has filled backpacks with donated supplies, distributing them to local children in need at the start of each school year. Working together with the Boys & Girls Clubs and local food banks, the backpacks include essential items like pens and pencils, notebooks, folders and glue sticks. But this year, more than 100 of those backpacks will include an exciting surprise – a laptop! The gently used laptops, donated by Summit Health, were collected and securely wiped by Liquid Technology.
