On November 2, 2025, Team Summit Health Cares took on the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon! Ten incredible runners represented Summit Health Cares this year, lacing up not just for the challenge, but for a purpose: to raise funds that provide comfort, care, and critical resources to families in need. Together, Team SHC raised over $40,000, helping Summit Health Cares deliver health screenings, scholarships, and community support programs that improve lives in our community.

Among them was Juliana Vogt, a Summit Health nurse and Regional Director of Neuroscience Services, whose story is one of perseverance and heart:
“My first doctor told me I’d never run again, and I was devastated,” Juliana shared. “To be able to come back from surgery and run the New York City Marathon is just huge for me. I’ve wanted this for over ten years, and doing it for Summit Health Cares — an organization I truly believe in — means everything.”
Juliana underwent knee surgery earlier this year and began running again in May, determined to prove to herself, and others, that resilience always finds a way. Her journey reflects what Team Summit Health Cares stands for: endurance, compassion, and community. Check out her story below!

“Running the NYC Marathon was an unforgettable experience,” shared Juliana. “My favorite memory was seeing my friends and family cheering me on from the sidelines – and hearing my children tell me how proud they were afterward truly meant the world to me.
I also want to give a huge shout out to Summit Health – this amazing company really showed up for me in every way. When I was struggling with an injury during training, the doctors (Dr Terry and Dr D’Onofrio) and PT’s (Jen Sasso and Anthony Falco) helped me get back on track. The generosity from donations to messages of support and encouragement kept me going through the toughest moments.
Crossing the finish line felt absolutely momentous. There are really no words to describe that feeling, it was pure joy, gratitude and disbelief all at once!”
Summit Health Cares is grateful for Juliana and all of #TeamSHC for their efforts both on the course and in fundraising!
