SHC and the City of Plainfield have joined forces to host a free Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 23 at City Hall (515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield) from 11 am to 3 pm. The free Health & Wellness Fair will offer COVID-19 vaccines, access to health screenings, diaper & menstrual hygiene products, colorectal cancer education and colorectal screenings, supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP), free sunscreen, and more!

SHC Accepting Scholarship Applications for a Career in Health Care
Summit Health Cares (SHC) is excited to announce the availability of two scholarships for students who are passionate about helping others and are pursuing a career in health care. Applications are now available for the 2022 Next Generation Scholarship and the Dr. Marcia Sherman Scholarship – programs designed to ease the financial burden for tomorrow’s health care leaders. SHC and Liquid Technology Team Up to Give NJ Students a Boost to Start the School Year
For the past five years, SHC has filled backpacks with donated supplies, distributing them to local children in need at the start of each school year. Working together with the Boys & Girls Clubs and local food banks, the backpacks include essential items like pens and pencils, notebooks, folders and glue sticks. But this year, more than 100 of those backpacks will include an exciting surprise – a laptop! The gently used laptops, donated by Summit Health, were collected and securely wiped by Liquid Technology.

This engaging, informative online program for ages five and over emphasizes that proper skin care and protection from the sun should start early, and that it should be top-of-mind for everyone, not only as a “summer thing,” but every day, every season, all year long.
